Russell Crowe’s next big screen adventure will be playing the Sherif of Nottingham in director Ridley Scott’s new Robin Hood film.
Scott cast Crowe as a lean mean fighting machine in Gladiator a few years back, a role that got him the Oscar for Best actor.
This time around, Crowe has plumped up a bit from his gladiator days, and Scott has asked him to slim down a bit.
The film will be a new twist on the Robin Hood story, with both Crowe’s Sheriff and the character of Robin Hood will be battling it out for the love of Maid Marian, played by Sienna Miller.
The film is set to start shooting this March, and Scott is hoping that Crowe will have shed some of the weight by then.
