Ashley Judd is the narrator of this new internet video by the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund, which slams Alaska Governor Sarah Palin for expanding the program of the areal shooting of Alaskan wolves, and even offering $150 dollars for each left foreleg of a slaughtered wolf that’s turned in.
Judd pleas in the video, “It’s time to stop Sarah Palin.”
Well Palin isn’t sitting back and letting this one slip by, in a statement on the state of Alaska website, Palin calls the video by the group “”reprehensible and hypocritical” for trying to deceive Americans into parting with their hard-earned money.
The Governor says,
“The ad campaign by this extreme fringe group, as Alaskans have witnessed over the last several years, distorts the facts about Alaska’s wildlife management programs,” Palin says. “Alaskans depend on wildlife for food and cultural practices which can’t be sustained when predators are allowed to decimate moose and caribou populations. Our predator control programs are scientific and successful at protecting vulnerable wildlife.
adding, “Shame on the Defenders of Wildlife for twisting the truth in an effort to raise funds from innocent and hard-pressed Americans struggling with these rough economic times.”
Singling out one public figure in a country that hunts wildlife for sport? You’ll have to do better than that, Judd.
