Clooney Cool at Cannes.
George Clooney has been a busy boy at the 2009 International Cannes Film Festival, getting the green light on two upcoming projects.
“A Very Private Gentleman,” an adaptation of the Martin Booth novel, was picked up by Universal’s Focus Features.
The story revolves around an assassin who retreats to the Italian countryside between assignments and finds the small-town relationships complicated. Anton Corbijn is set to direct. Corbijn is known for music videos, Nirvana’s “Heart Shaped Box,” and U2′s “One,” to name a few.
“Men Who Stare at Goats,” an adaptation of Joe Ronson’s novel, will be produced by Clooney’s Smokehouse.
“Goats” is a military comedy that follows a journalist who falls in with a secret military unit. Big names attached to this project include Kevin Spacey, Jeff Bridges, Robert Patrick, Stephen Root, and Rebecca Mader.
Keep ‘em coming George!
