Is Adam Lamberts Un-Authorized CD Release a Good or Bad Thing?

All this buzz around the release of a CD titled On With the Show that Adam Lambert recorded back in 2007 could go either way, so lets weigh the pros and the cons of each.
The cons are; As Lambert has been quoted saying, the music you hear will in no way be reflective of what he is working on now, this old material could turn some of his fans off perhaps. It might not be the sound they fell in love with on Idol, and if they think this IS Adam Lambert, they might not be interested in his future real release.
The pros are; As the record execs from Wilshire records are pointing out, he’s going to personally make way more money off of this type of release than any major record label release. It could also turn on a whole new group of people who weren’t interested in hearing him sing disco covers while on American Idol.
Sure it sounds a little shady, that they waited until he was a big star to dig this out of the archives, but who’s not shady in the business anymore?
I don’t think this could hurt Adam, even if it is viewed as a “bump in the road” so fans should just be thankful they will be getting two Adam Lambert CD’s this year instead of just one!
