Hey, look! Giving up Twitter is totally the new signing up for Twitter! Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor has given up Twitter after realizing that it’s powered by the Devil. The incredibly private Reznor had a very strong presence on Twitter and it helped bring him closer with his fans. But I guess Trent decided having too much contact with fans was a bad thing, mostly because most NIN fans are not much fun to be around:
Tweeted Reznor, before deleting his account:
I approached that as a place to be less formal and more off-the-cuff, honest and “human”. I was not expecting to broadcast details of my love life there, but it happened because I’m in love and it’s all I think about and that’s that. If this has bummed you out or destroyed what you’ve projected on me, fair enough – it’s probably time for you to leave. You are right, I’m not the same person I was in 1994 (and I’m happy about that). Are you?
This only confirms my faith that Trent is an actual human being with a soul and not an ego-headed vapid celebs musician. Think Ashton Kutcher or Diddy would ever abandon their precious Tweeting for a microsecond? You’ll have to pry their Blackberries from their cold, dead hands.
