A Barry Manilow Movie?
Riding the success of Mammia Mia in which Abba songs were twisted to make a romantic comedy, production companies Single Cell and Playtone are teaming up to make a movie using the songs of Barry Manilow.
The movie wouldn’t be so much of a musical as Mammia Mia was, but rather a film about a handful Manilow fans and their wacky adventures as they go to Vegas for a Manilow show. The songs would be the soundtrack to their adventures.
Somewhere out there is a 57 year-old woman who is relaying the good news of the Manilow movie to her cats. “Did you hear that Mr. Whiskers? Barry’s gonna be on the big screen!”
