Diablo Cody To Adapt Sweet Valley High
Juno and Jennifer’s Body writer Diablo Cody will inject her pop culture loving dialogue and overly ironic humor into a Sweet Valley High movie. She’s set to write the screenplay and produce the adaptation of the beloved teen series, likely doing so with a tongue-in-cheek humor.
Sweet Valley High (if you didn’t grow up a girl in the 80s) is a book series about two twins, Jessica and Elizabeth, and the drama they face in high school. There are over 150 books in the series, and almost as many ghostwriters, so staying true to the series isn’t really possible- the series didn’t stay true to the series. While most books focused on trouble with the cheerleading squad, or finding a date to prom, others had the teens dating a werewolf.
