Mayor of ‘BetseyVille’ Betsey Johnson Receives Lifetime Achievement Medal
Welcome to Betseyville, where the extensions are synthetic, the print is leopard, and anytime’s a great time to work a tutu!
For years Betsey Johnson has reigned supreme as the girly-girls designer for women of all ages. Last night, the zany everywoman designer picked up the prestigious Medal of Honor for Lifetime Achievement by the National Arts Club.
The 67 year-young fashion designer (we smell Rejuvenique) was also presented with her portrait, painted by Artist Dianne B. Bernhard.
Proof that there is life for a ballet dancer past 90 65, Betsey Johnson celebrated by kicking up her heels (don’t break a hip, Betsey!), swishing her extensions, and wowing the crowd.
