A Golden Girl Checks Into The Hospital
Golden Girl Rue McClanahan is in the hospital. With “Acute Cardiac Illness.”
Our fingers are trembling as we type, but Rue has released a statement saying that she’s fine and she’s not as ill as everyone thinks. The iconic actress, known to millions around the world as horny Blanche Deveraux, was scheduled to perform in the Castro this month in a show that reflected on her colorful life.
Says Rue:
“My darlings, I’m just devastated that I am going to have to miss my own tribute at the Castro Theatre. Unfortunately, my doctor has laid down the law, and I’m currently having some maintenance on the old ticker. Trust me, I’d much rather be in San Francisco having fun and being adored by all of you.”
