Sadly, this past weekend saw Alexa Ray Joel, the daughter of singer Billy Joel and model Christie Brinkley, hospitalized for an unsuccessful suicide attempt in New York City.
Now, it’s coming out that perhaps Joel took an overdose of pills because of an argument with her boyfriend.
The young singer, who once told People magazine that “I can get very dark,” wrote on her MySpace page in August:
“UGH!!! MEN!!! Is anybody else finding it a difficult “dating world” out there? I’m so terrible at dating – I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to it! And I HATE the game-playing! Can’t stand it.
I live in the greatest city in the world and I can’t seem to meet an interesting guy who also happens to be NICE. Go figure… “
Alexa was released from the hospital and is recovering at an undisclosed location. We wish her all the best.
