STARZLIFE @ House of Blues for “Entertainer of the Year”
It went down at the House of Blues last night. The “Entertainer of the Year” awards, a joint presentation between the No H8 Campaign and the Matthew Shephard Foundation, raged for eight solid hours of gender-bending fun. The evening’s main festivity was a drag contest hosted by Shanna Moakler, Holly Madison, and Bridget Marquadt. By far, Moakler was the most popular guest in attendance – queens screamed (even louder than normal) to show their love for the committed marriage-equality advocate.
Among the evening’s breakout sex illusionists: Detox (in the silver body paint), a 24-year-old who describes herself as a walking piece of art; and Chad Michaels (wearing the same color dress as Shanna), whose repertoire of dead-on impressions ranges from Cher to Marilyn Manson. Yes, Manson. Among the most talented performers we’ve seen in recent memory.
