City of Toronto NOT Footing Corey Haim Funeral Costs
Despite earlier reports that have the city of Toronto footing the bill for Corey Haim’s funeral service for Tuesday, it seems as if they won’t be doing so.
Toronto’s communications director, Kevin Sack, spoke out of the reports, saying; “The City of Toronto confirms no involvement in funeral costs for Mr. Haim. The City of Toronto has never received an application for assistance with the funeral costs for Mr. Haim.”
It was reported early Monday that executives from the company Startifacts, who are offering help in selling Corey Haim’s things were going to front a $20,000 check to his mother, Judy, to help with funeral costs, but she then had said she would be accepting assistance from the city of Toronto.
As for the actual service, long time Haim friend Corey Feldman will not be making the trip to attend, as he explains they are keeping it a small intimate family affair.
Feldman says in a statement; “The family has decided to make Corey’s funeral on Tuesday a small private affair. Understanding the recent media attention and to be respectful of the family’s wishes I have decided not to attend. Instead I will remain in Los Angeles quietly mourning and planning his memorial.”
Haim died last week at the young age of 38.
