Following weeks of speculation, Katy Perry filed for divorce from Russell Brand on December 30th.
Despite all of the love and support from her fans, to which Perry wrote on her Twitter.com page, “I am so grateful for all the love and support I’ve had from people around the world. You guys have made my heart happy again,” Perry will not be appearing at this year’s Peoples Choice Awards.
Despite being one of the front runners at the awards show this weekend, Perry won’t be appearing on the red carpet. She took to her Twitter page again to write, “Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the People’s Choice Awards. I want to thank u all for voting for me, fingers crossed!”
Perry is nominated for seven awards at this year’s show.
