‘The Avengers’ assembled to crushing numbers this weekend at the box office.
The super hero flick became the first film to surpass the $200 million mark in its opening weekend with projections at $200.3 million since its midnight release on Friday, May 4.
“The Avengers” passes “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” which earned $169 million when it hit theaters in July 2011.
With the International totals factored in, the film earned more than $600 million worldwide.
