Jayden Smith Signs On To ‘Karate Kid’ Sequel

After all of the success of Jayden Smith’s Karate Kid re-boot, the star has officially signed on to star in the sequel.

Smith starred alongside Jackie Chan in the first film, whichmade an insane $218 million, back in 2010 much to the surprise of studio execs.

The film is still in it’s early stages, but screen writer Zak Penn has been hired to write the sequel, and Jayden’s parents Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith will produce the project.

The father/son duo of Will and Jayden Smith are currently filming M. Night Shyamalan’s sci-fi flick After Earth, which is set to come out in 2013.

Macaulay Culkins Health: Not an Issue.

Macaulay Culkin was Thursday’s longest internet trend, after a photo of the former child actor surfaced online looking frail as he walked the streets of New York City.

The photo, which was shown exclusively on the Entertainment Tonight website showed a tired, sick, looking Culkin, who’s baby face was taken over by wrinkles and scruff.

This lead many to believe that Culkin’s health is getting bad, based upon looks alone.

Culkin even skipped a DJing gig in New York City last night, instead dropping off his iPod so that fans in attendance at the canned food drive could still listen to his tunes.

However, a rep for Mack insists that there is nothing to the health rumors, and that Macaulay Culkin is doing just fine.

Culkins rep says that any health rumors are “reckless, thoughtless and irresponsible”,adding that Culkin is “in perfectly good health”.

Team Mack is asking ET to discontinue any rumors.

Hugh Laurie Confirms ‘House’ Will Not Return Next Season

After two Golden Globe awards for best actor as Dr. House, Hugh Laurie is hanging up the cain.

In a joint press release between Laurie and the show’s creators, the announcement was made that ‘House’ would not be coming back for a ninth season.

The release reads,

“The decision to end the show now, or ever, is a painful one, as it risks putting asunder hundreds of close friendships that have developed over the last eight years – but also because the show itself has been a source of great pride to everyone involved.

“The producers have always imagined House as an enigmatic creature; he should never be the last one to leave the party. How much better to disappear before the music stops, while there is still some promise and mystique in the air.”

Celebrities Help Raise $1.4 Million For Charity

Celebrities including Lindsay Lohan, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Heidi Klum were on hand at a charity event in NYC this week to help raise money for the Elizabeth Taylor American Foundation for AIDS Research.

The event, which was hosted by Parker and held at Manhattan’s Cipriana Wall Street included an auction in which a portrait of Richard Gere, taken by late photographer Robert Mapplethorpe was sold to the high bid of $20,000.

Other celebs in attendance included Woody Allen, Jennifer Hudson and Cindy Crawford, who presented an award to Roberto Cavalli for all of his charity work.

The event raised more than $1.4 million for the charity.

Adam Levine Launches 222 Records

Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine has announced the launch of his new record label, and you’ll be shocked at who his first artist is.

Levine, who also is a coach on ‘The Voice’ announced 222 Records on Thursday and his first artist will be ‘Glee’s’ Matthew Morrison.
Levine said in a statement, “Starting my own label has been a long-time goal of mine and I am thrilled to be at the point in my career where it is finally happening.

“I am excited for everyone to hear Matthew’s forthcoming album. Great things are in store for him with this release.”

As for Will Scheuster, coach of the McKinley High Glee Club, he too is equally excited to work with Levine.
Morrison adds, “I am excited to be working on my next album with such an incredible singer, writer and producer as Adam Levine. Adam and I share the same vision as we begin working on my record together.”

A rumor started being passed around the internet last week that Miley Cyrus was heading to college.

According to the rumor, she was going to attend classes at Chapman University in Orange County, that way she’d be local and able to fit in her music/movie schedule.

However, it doesn’t seem to be the case.

A rep for Chapman University has come forward and revealed to E! News, “It’s just an internet hoax.”

Big news for all of you mobile app fans and “Jersey Shore” alike! Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is coming to your mobile and social networking platforms.

Apps Genius Corp, creators of social networking games and mobile apps has signed an exclusive deal with Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” and his family company, MPS Entertainment, to create, develop, sell and distribute four social games and mobile applications on behalf “The Situation” and the Sorrentino family.

The Situation and family applications and games will be released on the Android, Apple’s iOS, Facebook, and Google+ platforms. Apps Genius corp intends to develop, release and sell four applications and games within 18 months of the effective date of the license, with the first game set to commence development immediately.
