Special Edition Avatar DVD to be Released… Again

Jame’s Cameron seems to have no plans to stop making money from Avatar. For the second time, he’ll be releasing a special edition DVD for his mega money making film, this time with 68 minutes of never before seen footage. Geez!  By the time all these deleted scenes are put together, the movie is going to be 7 hours long! But hey, if you bought the last one, don’t worry.  This new edition will come in a new specially designed case.

Just how rich did James Cameron get from Avatar? Well he only got the biggest pay check ever for the director of a film! Since the total earnings for the film were $2.7 billion, and the DVD sales were way better than expected, Cameron received a paycheck totaling $350 million dollars. On top of all that, he’s planning to release a special edition DVD on August 27th, and you know fifteen years from now it’ll hit theaters again. Time to retire!

James Cameron has done it again. ‘Avatar‘ topped the box office this weekend with some impressive figures. Despite ho-hum reviews, the 3D sci-fi action flick raked in $73 million – the third highest ranking December release of all time. Surprisingly, almost half the viewers took in the 3D flick – in 2D.
