Disney’s ‘John Carter’ wasn’t strong enough to beat ‘The Lorax’ at the box office this weekend, as the Seuss film brought in $39 million during it’s second weekend on top. ‘Carter’ which was a heavy favorite fell short with $30, but took the second spot over ‘Project X’ which fell to just $19 million this weekend. It was probably the highest point of Lindsay Lohan’s  SNL hosting gig on Saturday night, a spoof of Bravo’s ‘Real Housewives’ franchise starring Disney princesses. Lohan joined SNL’s female cast, including Kristen Wiig, Abby Elliott, Nasim Pedrad and Vanessa Bayer, as they parodied  Disney Princesses Rapunzel , Cinderella, Belle , Jasmine and Snow White.   The stars poked fun at the typical drama of a ‘Real Housewives’ series. Mark Wahlberg’s latest film had landed atop of the weekend box office despite mixed reviews. ‘Contraband’ premiered this past weekend with a $24 million dollar opening weekend take. This ended the one week run of horror film ‘The Advil Inside’ which fell from to number three Disney’s re-release of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ took the second spot with $18 million. The Lion King returned to the big screen this weekend for the first time in 17 years, and in 3D!! King 3D dominated the box office in it’s return as well, bringing in $29.3 million dollars. The Disney Flick, which reunited us with the voice of Jonathan Taylor Thomas for probably the first time in nearly 17 years knocked off last weeks winner, Contagion, which earned $14.5 in it’s second weekend. Rounding out the top 5 were Drive, The Help, and Straw Dogs.

High School Musical besties bonded over tattoos on a recent trip to NYC. The pair, who first starred together back in 2006′s High School Musical hit up the famous NYC tattoo parlor ‘East Side Ink,’ where famous artist “Bang-Bang” famously tattooed other celebs, including Rihanna. Tisdale went for the saying “jamais seule,” meaning never alone on her foot, while Hudgens got got the “Om” symbol tattooed on both of her hands. Best friends forever!

First ‘Avengers’ Clip Shown At D23

The Avengers was surprisingly missing from Comic Con in San Diego, but has assembled for the D23 convention in Anaheim this past weekend. Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios said there was only about two weeks of filming left, and gave the first clip from the film that the public has seen. Check out the video below. The first official trailer for ‘The Muppets’ has been released, and gives the first real look at the upcoming movie starring Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Kermit The Frog, and Miss Piggy. They have released three spoof trailers to date, including a ‘Hangover 2′ spoof, and a ‘Green Lantern’ spoof, but finally we get a look inside the actual movie. The film hits theaters on November 23, just in time for your Thanksgiving weekend. Check out the first official trailer below.
