Eddie Murphy Sells New Jersey Mansion

It only took eight years and about eighteen million dollars, but Eddie Murphy has sold his New Jersey mansion. Murphy purchased the mansion back in 1985, and put it on the market in 2004 with an asking price of $30 million. In order to sell the eight bedroom home with an indoor pool, bowling alley, and movie theater, Murphy was forced to  drop the asking price to $12 million, according to reports.

Eddie Murphy has pulled out of his hosting duties for the upcoming Oscars. The news comes just three months before the annual awards show, and  just one day after Brett Ratner bowed out of his duties as a producer for the awards show.  Ratner resigned due to the fallout of  some pretty racy public comments and the use of an anti-gay slur. Eddie Murphy has been selected to star in a new bio pic about the late great Richard Pryor. Murphy was such a big fan of Pryor as a comedian, that he is waving his general movie price for the opporotunity to play his idol in this lower budget role.
