Katy Perry is set to give back with the proceeds of her new single, ‘Part of Me.’ Perry’s latest song shot to the top 10 on iTunes just hours after performing it at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night, and she has decided to donated the proceeds to help the arts. Proceeds from the sale of ‘Part of Me’ will go to the  MusiCares Foundation, which assists struggling musicians. Jay-Z And Kanye West Break iTunes Record

Watch The Throne, a joint album from Jay-Z and Kanye West has smashed iTunes sales records. The album, released exclusively on iTunes  on August 8 through the 11 sold almost 290,000 downloads in the first week. Watch The Throne is projected to be at the top of the Billboard Hot 200 on Wednesday with sales estimated near 500,000. Coldplay was the previous iTunes record holder with their 2008 album “Viva La Vida Or Death and All His Friends,” selling 282,000 in it’s first week.

Heather Mills is trying to take credit for The Beatles coming to iTunes. For the first time ever, music from The Beatles was available to purchase on iTunes starting a few weeks ago, after executives at EMI and the bands surviving members were able to come to an agreement that would put the band’s catalog on the web based music shop.
