James Cameron has told the New York Post that while he’s still taking notes for a second and third film, we probably won’t see it until about 2014. “Right now, the thinking is that (films) two and three are going to be done together. Just how rich did James Cameron get from Avatar? Well he only got the biggest pay check ever for the director of a film! Since the total earnings for the film were $2.7 billion, and the DVD sales were way better than expected, Cameron received a paycheck totaling $350 million dollars. On top of all that, he’s planning to release a special edition DVD on August 27th, and you know fifteen years from now it’ll hit theaters again. Time to retire!

James Cameron has done it again. ‘Avatar‘ topped the box office this weekend with some impressive figures. Despite ho-hum reviews, the 3D sci-fi action flick raked in $73 million – the third highest ranking December release of all time. Surprisingly, almost half the viewers took in the 3D flick – in 2D.
