Google Amerced in French Culture

You know what the funniest thing about the web in Europe is? The little differences. I mean, they got the same sites over there that we got here, but there it’s just a little different. [you request an example] You know what they call Google in Paris? “Le Goog.” [you ask what they call Yahoo!] Yahoo! is Yahoo!, but they spell it Yaheaux! [you ask what they call Wikipedia] I don’t know, I didn’t need to look up anything random while I was there.

Google just lost a lawsuit in Paris to publisher La Martiniere for posting excerpts from its copyrighted works online. A judge ruled they have to pay $430,00. Oh, no, Google has to shell out less than a half-million dollars. Sergey Brin makes that cleaning his couch.
