Bono’s lyrics in the trash!

Bono\'s lyrics go in the trash!

How did good friends Helena Christensen and Bono spend their summer vacation in France? Apparently by devoting their time to trash. The Danish supermodel enlisted the front man, as well as a slew of artists and designers, to revision the Vipp waste bin into 40 one-of-a-kind works of art that will be auctioned off at the Vipp Charity Auction on September 18th. All proceeds from the auction will benefit Chernobyl Children’s Project International and The Food Bank for New York City.

While the other designers, including Michael Stipe, Mario Batali, and Christy Turlington, bedazzled and bejeweled their bins, Bono stuck to what he knows best: music. The lucky winner of his bin will score a waste can stuffed with handwritten song lyrics off U2’s next album, including a tribute song to Nelson Mandela on his 90th birthday. Dedicated to “H-Bomb,” also known as Helena Christensen, the pedal bin features a self portrait of the singer and is called “Bono Trash.”
Sales prices for the fashionable trash receptacles are expected to exceed to $10,000.
That’s trash someone will truly treasure.
