Dan Brown’s Books Most Given Away to Charity Thrift Stores – You’re Welcome, Welfare Recipients

DaVinciCode

First, let me make it clear that I’m well aware not everyone who shops at Goodwill is on welfare. For example, me. I shop at thrift stores exclusively and I’m not on welfare. (I’m too embarrassed to apply.)

As a frequent patron of second-hand shops for the penurious, I can whole-heartedly attest to the validity of this report which says Dan Brown‘s tomes are the most-donated books in England. I, of course, live in America, but having seen shelves sagging with hardcover copies of The Da Vinci Code at every Goodwill and Out of the Closet (they’re this chain of, like, gay thrift stores) in L.A., this is obviously a trend that straddles the pond.

Rounding out the top ten given-away authors:

2. John Grisham

3. Ian Rankin

4. Danielle Steel

5. Helen Fielding

6. Stephen King

7. JK Rowling

8. Catherine Cookson

9. Patricia Cornwell

10. Mills & Boon

And here’s my personal, unofficial list of the most stolen genres of music from the CD section of Goodwill:

1. Rap

2. Hip Hop

3. R & B

4. Nothing else

Please stop writing, Grant. Fortunately, I can now pick out your posts based on the lame and completely ignorant headings. And, you live in “America”? North America? South America? “America” is not a country….I think you were referring to the United States of America. Gee, edit much?
