Honestly, we expected a flashier post-Idol gig than this.
Paula Abdul has announced via her Twitter that she will host the upcoming 2009 VH1 Divas Live. A gig great for Kelly Rowland or Nancy McKeon perhaps, but our Paula? Straight Up – this sucks eggs!

“Hi guys! im really excited 2 announce ill b hosting this year’s “Vh1 Divas”!The show will be live on Sept 17th @ 9 pm EST”
The Divas show will star Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis, Adele and Miley Cyrus. OK, we’ll stop right there. When you’re calling Miley Cyrus a diva, it’s time to get a life.
Paula’s first post-Idol gig was actually a spot on Lifetime’s ‘Drop Dead Diva,’ which has yet to air. Though the star has been fielding plenty of offers (including a spot on ‘Ugly Betty‘ that the star turned down,) this is her first confirmed ‘gig.’
