Pusha T from the Clipse: “Jewish people, I mean, like they don’t run the record industry? Like what, I can’t say that?”

Yes, you can! Get ’em, Pusha!

Pusha T, one-half the the best rap duo ever, the Clipse, did just that in an interview with Hip Hop Wired. Pusha was speaking on the controversy surrounding the “Obama Fried Chicken” sign blurred from MTV airings of their video “Popular Demand (Popeyes)” – was the sign a racist reference to the fact that black people love, love, love fried chicken? (You know, like everyone else who isn’t a vegetarian? Fried chicken tastes good. There, I said it.) No. The owner of the real-life chicken shack changed its name in celebration of Obama’s election. According to MTV, it’s blurred because the owner wanted a grip of scrilla for allowing it to be shown in a video.

Pusha’s sick of people fishing for controversy in his rhymes, like when he says “Pompous muthafucka, just look what them Jews made me”:

It’s like pompous, like yo they have created…I’m in this industry and they’ve created me and this industry and look how arrogant I am…but it wasn’t a swipe at Jewish people, man. I love Jewish people.

Yes! I love when rappers acknowledge that they owe their success to Jews. Don’t forget to thank your lawyer, too. And if you keep eating at Popeyes, you can bet it’s a Jew who’ll be ripping an artery from your thigh and sticking it in your heart. (I’m assuming the Clipse can afford decent health insurance.)

I’m on my grind, I hustle ’til the block’s completed / When I get fresh, Gucci to the socks is needed / I’m postin’ 6-figure bails, you know the cops is heated / And my lawyer’s Jewish – so that means I gots to beat it! – Freck Billionaire
