Mickey Rourke Drops Out of ‘Conan’ Remake

Mickey Rourke was set to star in the remake of the 1982 classic Conan the Barbarian, playing the role of Conan’s father, but he has reportedly pulled out of the film.

The Wrestler star was cast alongside former Baywatch actor Jason Moma, who will take on the role made famous originally by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Rouke will be replaced with Hellboy actor Ron Pearlman.

Pearlman was the voice of Conan in the old animated series.

Conan the Barbarian is set for a 2011 release.

We think Rouke made a good wrestler, but Pearlman looks more like the father of a “barbarian.”
