Mike Bibby Taking His Talents to South Beach?

Mike Bibby, the twelve year NBA star who was recently traded from the Atlanta Hawks to the Washington Wizards has agreed to a contract buyout with the Wizards, and for the hefty price of giving up $6.3 million dollars next season to play for Washington, Bibby is now free to play wherever he chooses in the NBA.

According to reports, it was down to Bibby joining the Miami Heat and Lebron James and Dwayne Wade, or joining the aging roster of the Boston Celtics, both championship contenders.

Boston signed Tony Murphy yesterday, and Miami released Carlos Arroyo from their twelve man roster, which is an indication that Bibby could sign with Miami some time on Wednesday, and be available for their game with cross state rival Orlando on Thursday, or in San Antonio against the top seed Spurs on Friday night.

A lot of players have been giving up money this season to join a championship contending team, so is this a trend that may soon cross over to Hollywood?   Mark Wahlberg spent a bunch of extra money to be in the perfect shape for ‘The Fighter,’ but could we see actors and actresses taking a pay cut from what they are used to in order to star along side a bigger name, or for an Oscar contending film?

In his career, Bibby has earned more than $100 million dollars over twelve seasons.  We think he’ll be okay.
