Lady Gaga Forcing Photographers to Fork Over Concert Photos

Lady Gaga is waging war on concert photographers over the license of photos taken at her shows.

Okay, well maybe not war, we don’t want you to LeBron James us for that, but neither side is happy!

Gaga reportedly started asking photographers to sign over release forms for licenses to the photographs taken during her shows befor allowing them admission to the event.

As one photog put it to Rolling Stone Magazine, “It’s utterly disrespectful of the time, the effort and the creativity of the photographer.

Adding that larger publications get more of a watered down release, it’s the smaller photographers who suffer in having to turn their images over at the end of the night.

“Typically the person who has the least leverage gets the worst release… The people who get paid $125 to hang out for four hours at a concert have to sign this release. So on top of getting paid very little, they have no ongoing revenue stream from these photos whatsoever.”

Doesn’t sound very fair, but surely she’s not the first celeb to institute that sort of a law at their events.

Should Lady Gaga be trying to control all of the release of her photos, or does the normal system work just fine?
