Finally America gets it!

It may have only took 8 weeks, and cost us the talented Michael Johns, Ramiele Malubay, David Hernandez, and everybody’s favorite,Danny Noriega, but finally American Idol was forced to dump Kristy Lee Cook from the singing competition.

Kristy Lee cook’s wanna be country ass remaining on this show for so long was a flat out crime. She was making me hate a show that I love so much! I’m talking… I call home every Tuesday and Wednesday and have my mom put the phone up to the TV so I can at least listen to the live east coast feed while I impaitently wait for the taping to air out here in LA. (ok not really… but I have thought about it) But week after week, somehow she was safe. In any event… She’s gone now, and the world is a better place. Farewell.

Next week Idol will bring in the songs of Andrew LLoyd Webber and while all the other blogs will wait until Monday to speculate the way the week will go, I’m going to do it right here right now on Starzlife.com. One thing we can all be thankful for is that were not going to have to sit through a Kristy Lee Cook country rendition of The Sound of Music.

Here are my song choices:

David Archuletta: “Any dream will do” from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat – David is always singing some inspirational esque crap. The kid can sing like no other and will definitely be on the stage during the finale as first or second place, but there’s nothing flashy about him. This is Hollywood, you gotta be flashy.

Syesha Mercado: “Light at the end of the tunnel” from Starlight Express – Syesha can see the light at the end of the tunnel, but being the only other contestant to be in the bottom 3 for the fourth time this week, she might only see the light, but not reach it.

Jason Castro: “Do-re-mi” from The Sound of Music – Jason will take this song and put his little soft hippie spin on it and make it nice. Wether the judges like it is up to how he performs it, but you can bet it will sound a lot like his somewhere over the rainbow.

Carly Smithson
: “Dont cry for me Argentina” from Evita – This is typical Carly, she can yell, stand still, and make us all wonder how she gets rid of the accent while she sings.

Brooke White: “It’s not the end of the world” from Song and Dance – Because it’s not the end of the world, but it’s probably the end of the show for Brooke.

David Cook: “The Phantom of the Opera” from The Phantom of the opera– David can take this song, keep it dark, and make it totally rock and roll. If he keeps up what he’s been doing he may not be the “second david” for very long…

Bottom 3: Carly, Jason, Brooke
Going Home: Brooke

Keep Checking back to Starzlife all week for more American Idol updates and to tell me how great I am (or how wrong I was) for predicting these songs a week in advance.
