Brooke Shields Dismissed Cancellation Claims; Fans to the Rescue.

Brooke Shields apparently didn’t get the memo that NBC was canceling Lipstick Jungle last week, because at an event in NYC this weekend she said she’d heard nothing of the sort.

As for those slacking ratings?  She must have missed the fact her show was sent to the dreaded Friday night time slot too because according to her, after DVR watchers are counted they’ve got “like the number 1 show.”

She admits if by chance it does get the 86, she’d be sad because she enjoys the family atmosphere, and her Lipstick co-star Kim Raver agrees that it would be a disappointment to see go.

This isn’t the first time NBC has been down this road with a popular show though.  After sending Friday Night Lights to Friday nights from Wednesday nights, and announcing that she show may not return, fans rallied with their “Keep the lights on” campaign and mailed light bulbs and bottles of Clear Eyes to show execs, NBC worked out a deal to give the show another season.

Lipstick fans are doing the same, sending tubes of Lipstick to the queens over at NBC to say, “Keep the lipstick on?”
