In these tough economic time people are still going to find a way to get what they want! House and car payments? No-way. Dark Knight on Blu-Ray or DVD? Heck yeah!
The Dark Knight hit DVD shelves Tuesday morning with some stores holding special midnight sales of the film and you wouldn’t believe the next day sales numbers.
First day sales estimates have the movie selling 600,000 copies of the Blu-Ray formated disc alone, and thats nothing compared to the standard DVD sales which brought the total to a cool 3-Million copies!
3 million DVDs at about $20.00 a disc makes for about $60-million-dollars +/- in first day sales!
The disc is estimated to sell about 7 million in it’s first week, and that number will probably surpass with Christmas being right around the corner, so The Dark Knight is going to bring in some mega bucks even before the clock strikes midnight and 2009 arrives!
Must be nice to have worked on that film when the bonus checks start rollin’ in!
