YES! Carey Edges Out Smith in Box-Office Battle.

Two Box-Office heavyweights went screen to screen this weekend but it was the underdog, Jim Carey, who came out ahead of the champ, Will Smith in first weekend returns.

Carey’s  Yes Man brought in 18.1-million-dollars while Smith’s Seven Pounds brought in a close but not enough 16-million-dollars for the number two spot.

Smith’s movie didn’t even bring in half of the money that his son Jayden’s film, The Day the Earth Stood Still, brought in during it’s opening weekend.

and Seven Pounds, which also stars Tom Cruises’ son, Connor, might have a tough time beating out Tom’s Nazi thriller, Valkyrie, when it’s released on Christmas day.

Hopefully this doesn’t end Will Smith’s 100-million-dollar-streak…
