Dev Patel earned himself a film career playing a Mumbai orphan named Jamal who got to appear on the India version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire in 2008’s best picture winner, Slumdog Millionaire. Now according to reports Patel is ready to sweat it out in the hot seat on the real US version of Millionaire.
A source tells The Sun, “Danny and Dev are keen to keep on giving back to the street kids, and have been talking to Railway Children about appearing on Who Wants to be a Millionaire?. Filming of the special depends on when both are available, as they are in huge demand following their Oscar success. But we hope it will happen later this year. To have Dev back in the Millionaire hot-seat would be brilliant, and would do a lot for the charity.”
Watching Patel in real life interviews, I fear the results would not be nearly as good as they were in the movie though. But any little bit for charity helps!
