Kris Allen Victory a Product of AT&T Cheating?

According to the New York Times;  American Idol winner Kris Allen may have had a helping hand in defeating Adam Lambert for the crown of American Idol last week by one of the shows main sponsors.

The Times is reporting that at two Kris Allen rallies in Arkansas last Tuesday night, Fans were handed out free phones from AT&T and given a tutorial on how to  send 10 votes at once.

At the Adam Lambert parties in San Diego, AT&T did not bring any phones for those in attendance, suggesting that it may have all been part of a plan to help ensure Kris to score the upset over the heavy favorite.

As the reports that surfaced last week suggested that Allen beat Lambert by a heavy margin, it would certainly make sense if you had thousands of people sending multiple texts that equaled to ten votes at one time.

So did Idol or AT&T put the fix in on finale night?

Executives at FOX have yet to comment, but a rep for AT&T has simply stated; “In Arkansas, we were invited to attend the local watch parties organized by the community. A few local employees brought a small number of demo phones with them and provided texting tutorials to those who were interested.”

Of course the results may be for the better, as Adam Lambert is entertaining deals that would land him as the new front man of Queen, as contracts that would give him a bit more creative freedom while writing an album.

Kris was damn good during the final night of competition, but if AT&T or Idol was playing dirty that’s no good!

    Hello,
I do agree that AT&T cheated for Kris as I believe that phones were given as well as Tutorials to send multiple votes to Kris Allens Vote Phoneline.
I think this is a very dirty trick played on Adam, as I think he should have won.

Of course Kris fans cheated. His website currently has 6,500 posts: Adam Lambert currently has 495,000 posts!!!! At all the AI concerts, 90% of the audience is there for Adam, and this was true in Atlanta (I attended this concert). Now that we see the support for Adam, I know 100% that there was cheating, there is no way that Kris won. Many people started leaving the AI concert when Kris started singing to get a head start on traffic. Yeah right, he won……………..
