Natalie Portman has been cast as “Jane Foster” in the upcoming Thor movie. The only name I have any familiarity with in that previous sentence is “Natalie Portman.”
Some of you may be familiar with Thor in his capacity as the Norse God of thunder. If that doesn’t ring a bell, think of that guy in ancient mythology swinging a big hammer. No? Ever seen the back of a heavy metal t-shirt? One of those guys is Thor.
There’s a comic book character who’s literally a God? Isn’t that a little too powerful, even for a superhero? What are his vulnerabilities? Secularism? I guess it makes sense his girlfriend is Natalie Portman. The Jews are God’s chosen people, after all.
