Joe Francis Should Maybe Try a Better Defense

Joe Francis, founder of the Girls Gone Wild franchise, is on trial for tax evasion. He is accused of writing off thousands of dollars as ‘business expenses’. So how does his legal team plan on getting him off? By linking him with celebrities, duh!

Francis’ lawyers have made a powerpoint which was obtained by The Smoking Gun, which links Francis to Orlando Bloom, Vince Vaughn, Jack Nicholson, Kim Kardashian, and Jennifer Aniston.

Francis had frequently rented his Mexican villa out to wealthy celebs, which the defense hopes counts as a business expense. Furthermore they hope that the jury will see how keeping up the celebs status is part of the GGW business plan, and can be used as a tax deduction. This means anything that helps build that image would be tax deductible- including cars, parties, and Laker’s games.

His lawyers hope jurors see a link between Girls Gone Wild and Hugh Hefner’s Playboy empire, since GGW is base smut and the other is a cherished slice of American culture.

If convicted, Francis could face 10 years in prison.
