Principal photography for indie flick, Without Men, which stars Eva Longoria-Parker and Christian Slater kicked off this week near Santa Barbara, CA.
Without Men is based on international bestseller “Tales From the Town of Widows” by James Canon and will be directed by Gabriela Tagliavini.
The story follows Longoria’s character as she leads a group of women in a remote Latin American village forced to fend for themselves after their men leave to fight in a civil war. A battle of the sexes ensues when the men return to reclaim their power.
Longoria, pictured above on set with executive producer Nathan Folks explained during a recent interview: “Through humor and fantasy, the story not only immerses us in a world of magic realism but also deals with important issues of identity and the role of women in society in a very comedic way.”
In addition to Longoria and Slater, comedians Paul Rodriguez, Oscar Nunez and Judy Reyes (“Scrubs”) join Monica Huarte, Maria Conchita Alonso and Kate del Castillo to make up the rest of the cast.
