BREAKING NEWS! Reggie Bush Forfeits His 2005 Heisman Trophy

New Orleans Saints running-back Reggie Bush has made a decision to forfeit his 2005 Heisman Trophy.

In a bit of a “you can’t fire me, I quit” moment, Bush released the following statement today through the Saints:

“Each individual carries the legacy of the award and each one is entrusted with its good name … It is for these reasons that I have made the difficult decision to forfeit my title as Heisman winner of 2005.”

The Heisman trust organization was currently in the middle of a discussion to decide whether or not they would strip the trophy from Bush, who was found guilty of taking improper benefits while attending the University of Southern California.

USC has already been stripped of all victories while Bush was ineligible, and his image, and Heisman have already been removed from the schools ‘Heritage Hall.’

This move from Reggie to forfeit his trophy would lead us to believe he had heard on good authority that the trust would be taking the trophy away from him.

Bush is the first player EVER to return the award.

The Heisman trophy is college football’s most coveted individual award.
