Justin Bieber Snubbed at Grammy’s, Best New Artist Faces Backlash

Justin Bieber’s face when Esperanza Spalding was named best new artist at the Grammy awards had ‘disappointment’ written all over it , but that’s the nature of the business.

Esperanza Spalding won the award during last night’s show, and most of you probably let out a big “who?” when the name was called.  Bieber probably even did himself!

Justin told MTV News following the awards show: “I had no clue what was going to happen; I worked really hard these past few years and you know, I’m not going to lie – I was disappointed. But, you know, I’m gonna come back (next year) and we’ll take a few home. I’m inspired to work harder than I did last year. It’s going to be hard, but I’m going to try.”

He then followed up with the following tweet: “Of course I wanted to win. It’s been & still is a dream to win a Grammy. Was I upset… yes. But I was happy for her (Spalding) also… Someone said to me tonight it’s not your successes that define u but your failures. I lost… but I don’t plan on this being my last chance.”

It was his fans who took it personal.  Just hours after the show, Spalding’s Wikipedia page started to get vandalized by those with Bieber fever, writing things to her bio such as;

“JUSTIN BIEBER DESERVED IT GO DIE IN A HOLE. WHO THE HECK ARE YOU ANYWAY?”

“SHE IS F**KING RETARD (sic) THAT NO ONE HAS HEARD OF SO B**CH PLEASE DIE!”

The posts were quickly removed by Wiki mods, but the backlash will stick for a long time.

Esperanza Spalding is currently trending on Twitter today, but most of the posts are negative and start with things such as “who the f**k is.”

We think Bieber was robbed as well, but as he noted, it won’t be his last chance.

Get em’ next year, Biebs.
