‘Rio’ Kills ‘Scream’ At The Box Office

Sort of a disappointing opening weekend for ‘Scream 4,’ which was highly anticipated by the mid to late twenties generation.

The film opened second this weekend bringing in only $19 million dollars, while the animated ‘Rio’ took the top spot, with a $38 million dollar opening.

‘Rio’s grand total gave the film the highest opening of 2011 so far, passing previous record holders ‘Rango’ and ‘Hop.’

While we’re not sure if it was the trust factor in the Scream franchise, as the second and third films offered a decline in quality that left the fourth one a big gamble, however we saw ‘Scream 4’ and it was a huge upgrade from the franchise’s third film, at least.

What movie did you guys see this weekend?
