Ryan Seacrst In Talks With NBC For His Own Singing Competition

Could Ryan Seacrest be leaving American Idol next year to start his own project?

According to our friends at Kikster.com, Seacrest only has one year on his Idol deal, which is paying him a hefty $15 million per year, but he’s already in talks with rival network NBC (which also just premiered ‘The Voice’)  to start his own singing show, which would eventually compete with the hit FOX series.

Assumingly the gig would pay him about twice as much.

Seacrest’s new show, done under his Ryan Seacrest Productions umbrella, is described by NBC’s VP of Alternative Programing as “Another music concept, which is a totally different kind of competition show.  It is self-contained episodes. It is a bit more fun. It’s not contestant-competitive, it’s artist-competitive.”

It’s far from a done deal, and could just as easily mean Idol will give him a mega raise to keep him around, but either way Ryan Seacrest is going to get paid, and run this town for many years to come.
