In a statement released this morning the vest explains, “After meeting with university officials, we agreed that it is in the best interest of Ohio State that I resign as head football coach.”

Five of Ohio State’s starters were given discounts at a local tattoo shop last year, and reports surfaced that Tressel was made aware of the federal investigation in early 2010, but withheld the info from the NCAA for an entire season.

Other former students have since came forward telling tales of discounts on cars, and other goods as well as pawning off some of their memorabilia for cash.

Sounds like Ohio St. is getting what they deserve. Hard to be unaware of these things going on if it’s been as rampant as reported. They also hired Treseel knowing full well his history at Youngstown St. was checkered at best. I don’t feel sorry for them.
