Diddy Settles Over 1999 Nightclub Shooting

Sean “Diddy” Combs has settled up in a lawsuit stemming from a 1999 club shooting in New York City.

mbs was cleared of any wrongdoing in the criminal case, but both he and Barrow, as well as the now-defunct club’s owners, were targeted in lawsuits by those who were hurt, including Natania Reuben, who suffered severe facial injuries and filed a $130 million legal battle for compensation in 2008.

Combs and his then girlfriend Jennifer Lopez were arrested the night of the shooting, but cleared of any wrong doing in the case.  Still he and the now defunct club owners, were named in a $130 million dollar lawsuit by the victim and some club goers.

Jamal ‘Shyne’ Barrow, who was one of Diddy’s proteges,  served nearly 10 years behind bars on charges relating to the shooting.

Natania Reuben, who suffered severe facial injuries during the shooting , filed a $130 million legal battle for compensation in 2008.

A new report is suggesting that all of the lawsuits were settled earlier this year and the terms of the deal were bound by a confidentiality agreement.

However, former Club New York owner Michael Bergos, who refused to sign the confidentiality agreement, tells the New York Post Reuben received $1.8 million in the settlement, while two other club goers received sums of $500,000 and $50,000.

Bergos told the paper he declined to sign the confidentiality agreement because he did nothing wrong, and may have needed to talk about the incident some time in the future.
