Abercombie & Fitch Offeres “Situation” Cash To Not wear Their Clothes

Just a big publicity stunt gone wrong?

Abercrombie & Fitch made headlines Tuesday with a report that the company had offered  Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and the other cast members of ‘Jersey Shore’ a sum of money to stop wearing their clothes.

A rep from A&F wrote: We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image. We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans. We have therefore offered a substantial payment to Michael ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino and the producers of MTV’s The Jersey Shore to have the character wear an alternate brand. We have also extended this offer to other members of the cast, and are urgently waiting a response.”

However, TMZ is reporting that a source close to Sitch, and the rest of the JS cast reveals the cast have not received any such letter or offer.

On top of it all, A&F stock plummeted 9% yesterday, coincidence?
