Simon Cowell and ‘The X Factor’ had been reportedly interested in hiring Whitney Houston as a new judge, filling the seat of Nicole Scherzinger or Paula Abdul on the upcoming season of the show, just days before her passing a few weeks back.
Now Cowell is planning to honor the legendary singer during an episode of the show.
He says, “I’ve got a feeling we’re going to see a Whitney tribute on (shows) The Voice and (American) Idol before us. We’re going to continue to pay tribute to Whitney. Her songs literally are timeless.” “Whether we find anyone as good as her, that’s a whole different ball game.”
Both ‘The Voice,’ and ‘American Idol’ are currently airing, with ‘The X Factor’ coming back later this year.
