Every once in a while a celebrity good deed goes unnoticed. This is one of those times.
Not that Denzel Washington was donating this sum of money to get headlines or sell movie tickets, but it’s our job to recognize acts like this and report them to the world.
Washington and his family visited the troops recently at Brook Army Medical Center , in San Antonio, Texas. BAMC is where soldiers who have been evacuated from Germany come to be hospitalized in the United States. Buildings adjacent to the facilities are called Fiser Houses, the Fisher House is a hotel where soldier’s families can stay for little or no charge while their family member is staying at the hospital. Though there are quite a few of these houses on the base, they are filled up most of the time, occasionally leaving family members without the option.
After touring one of the Fisher Houses, and learning of the limited space, Washinton asked how much it would cost to build another, taking his check book out and writing a check for the full amount right there on the spot.
This generous gesture will allow family members of those serving our country to be by them while they recover. Something like this should not go unnoticed.
Thank you to all the soldiers serving the USA, and thank you to Denzel Washington for his kindness and generosity.

I am appalled at the people commenting on here about
the fallacies in this story. How about the FACT that he took the time to visit
and that he did make a “sizable” donation. Not to mention it wasn’t like he only
did it because cameras were there. He is such a quality person.
