Movie Makers Want Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo For ‘Vacation’ Sequel

Could the Griswold family be taking another vacation 30 years after their first?

Horrible Bosses film makers Johnathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley are hoping to make a new sequel to the ‘Vacation’ franchise from ‘National Lampoon,’ and they are hoping that Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo are up for a return.

Daley tells The Hollywod Reporter, “We intend to have a part for Clark Griswold. We’re hoping he’ll (Chase) be down to come back.”

There stands a pressure not to mess up a classic with an outdated sequel, and the directors are well aware of the fact.

Daley adds, “It is something that we’ve been warned not to screw up. We have confidence that there’s still a lot to tell in the story of the Griswolds and we’ve been involved with it for so long, it felt like the natural next step to direct.”

The new film would center around grown up Griswold son Rusty, as he sets out for his first family getaway.

Chase and D’Angelo most recently starred in a short series for National Lampoon’s website where they re-visited the roles of Clark and Ellen Griswold.
