The Rosie O’Donnell vs. Lindsay Lohan saga has taken a new twist, with O’Donnell defending her comments about Lohan landing the part of Elizabeth Taylor, insisting she only wants Lindsay to be at her best when returning to work.
Rosie slammed Lifestyle network producers’ for choosing to cast Lohan as the late Hollywood icon, saying, “The last thing she did good (was when) she was 16. I don’t think she’s right for the role and I don’t think she’s capable at this point to portray that character.”
Lohan herself responded to the criticism, insisting that she was shocked to hear that those remarks came from Rosie, because she had always got along with the outspoken host since appearing on her talk show as a kid.
O’Donnell has taken the time to explain her outburst on her website, insisting she only wants Lohan to get the help she needs in order to make a full comeback, saying she’d hate to see her end up like Whitney Houston.
O’Donnell writes, “To me working right now seems like a bad idea it is not about her talent it is about her health Lindsay Lohan needs help.
“I met her when she was a young girl smart adorable and full of light we all watched her this last decade a true Hollywood story… the exact feeling I had watching Whitney Houston’s funeral in Newark we all should have spoken up for her too.
“We believe in u, u r not alone help is available u r loved. Lindsay Lohan is worth saving she is the only one who can do it before it is 2 late, I hope she can finds her value – off camera. And then – when she returns – on camera she will wow us all once more peace.”
