Concert organizers in Indonesia are acting urgently to attempt to overturn a ban on Lady Gaga performing in the capital city of Jakarta.
It was announced this week that Gaga may have to cancel the Indonesian leg of her upcoming ‘Born This Way’ tour after local authorities revoked her performance license. The move came amid a storm of protests from Muslim groups in the country who have branded the star “the devil’s messenger” for her controversial stage antics.
Officials at Big Daddy Live!, the group putting on the shows, have reached out the Gaga faithful, urging them to be patient while the company tries to overturn the ban.
A spokesperson for the group writes on Twitter.com, “Still fighting… We want the best for all Little Monsters.”
According to a report, a spokesman for the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) vowed that it’s members will cause mayhem if the show gets the green light, by saying in a statement, “If Lady Gaga still wants to perform here, go ahead. But please be prepared for chaos in Jakarta. We are ready to be thrown to jail and be killed – we will do anything to stop it.”
Talk about extreme measures!
Please ensure the safety of Gaga and her fans as a number one priority!
