The Amazing Spider-Man Takes Top Box Office Spot


As was projected, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man took the top box office spot over the holiday weekend.

Though the film came in a little under the projected total, they ended the six day weekend at $140 million.

Sony officials originally thought the film would reach the $150 million mark, and the first film of the now announced trilogy fell short of the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man franchise’s opening weekend, which earned $144 million.

‘Ted’ came in second, earning $32 million in it’s second weekend, followed up by ‘Brave’ ($20.2 million,) ‘Savages’ ($16.2 million) and ‘Magic Mike’ ($15.6 million).
